My name is Marlene Snee and I live in Northamptonshire.

Originally from Germany, I moved to England in 1972 to get married, but I often return to my home country to visit family and friends and some of my art has been inspired by the wonderful countryside around my home town of Muehlacker in the South-West of the country.

I have loved drawing and painting ever since I can remember and as the demands of bringing up a family lessened, I have been able to dedicate more time to develop and further my love of art, over the years attending evening classes and art workshops.

It has been a long and absorbing journey and I am still learning new skills and experimenting with different media. There is still much to learn.

I am a member of the Society for All Artists, Kettering and District Art Society, Northamptonshire Open Studio, South Northamptonshire Arts and Oundle art group.

I regularly exhibit and sell my work in their annual exhibitions. I have exhibited and sold my work in libraries, art galleries and other venues both locally, in neigbouring counties and Cornwall.

The internet has opened my work up to a bigger market and one of my paintings has been sold as far afield as China

Since 2013 I have had annual joint exhibitions with Tamsin Edwards at the historic Chichele College in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire, which we hope to continue into the future.

I regularly take part in 'Northampton Open Studios' exhibitions .

From 2001 to 2016 I have been running local Art classes for adults as well as watercolour work shops, but have now largely retired from teaching so I can dedicate more time to my own art and develop my work by experimenting with different media.
